Birdwatching in Sichuan

It will be our first organized tour to a region about which we have extensive personal experience. All the details of the trip have been worked out with great diligence. Nonetheless, note that we reserve the right to change minor details about the trip itinerary as presented herein.

This trip primarily focusses on finding a great bandwidth of regional endemics and rarities. In the process, however, we shall come across a stunning variety of more widespread Eastern Palearctic species, as well as some of the most impressive landscapes on earth.

Note that this trip involves a few days with extended hikes at partly high elevations. While there is always the possibility to drop out for some time to relax, you need to have a minimum level of fitness to get the most out of your Sichuan experience. We advise you to contact your doctor before you go.

Accommodation will be good in relation to the national chinese standart at most sites; however, on some days (e.g. on Emei Shan or in Wuyipeng) we will be required to stay in rather basic accommodation to stand the best chance of finding all the rarities.
